The brand new video from Paul Heaton's album 'The Mighty Several' Shot in Manchester and starring Pearce Quigley and Diane Morgan.
Commercially, the song was a huge success worldwide. "This Groove" received positive reviews from music critics, with one of them labeling it as one of the finest moments of Beckham's solo career. Following heavy promotion with many televised appearances in the United Kingdom, the release entered the UK Singles Chart at number three. It became the 88th best selling single of 2004 in the region, and also reached the top three in Scotland and charted within the top 20 in Ireland. An accompanying music video was directed by Andy Hylton, and depicts Beckham alone rolling around on a bed.the single got to No.3 in the UK chart.

The initial concept was to make it into a late night open-mic style venue for insomniacs, where Corinne just walks up and steals the show. I always like to use cars in music videos as a way of placing the audience into a specific time period and location. I wanted it to feel like an industrial 1970s American city, so I rented an old 1976 Buick which gives the video a grounded authenticity. The exteriors of this video were filmed off Brick Lane in London. We art directed the streets to create the ‘Georgia Mae SleepEasy’ and ‘Slumber Records’ shop (both 'Sleep' references) and created the sign above the entrance to the club. The club interior was pretty much as we found it with only the edition of specific instruments to make sure it all remained faithful to the time period. ARRI Super 16mm
Wiley says this was his first appearance in a music video and I think he smashed it. The whole video was shot in one day using numerous locations across East London. The boxing ring was constructed inside a church in Hackney, driving shots around Docklands and a helicopter landing pad in the city. The flames from the back of the car were added in post production. We used burning distress flares on the rooftop. Someone must have reported flames from the top, so as we were leaving the building we passed the fire brigade on their way up it. The single reached number 21 on the UK Singles Chart in May 2002. The crew were nominated at the MOBO Awards in 2002.
My second video for Yolanda Be Cool, following the enormous worldwide success of ‘We No Speak Americano’. This was shot in an old disused hospital in West London. I based the overall style on One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. It featured the artists as orderlies and my own daughter Isabel as the dancing girl on the TV. Isabel also played the ‘flower girl’ in Americano.
This video was nominated Best Music Video at the Urban Music Awards 2013.
The video for this classic UK Garage track was shot in the Chatham Historic Dockyard. An amazing location, built in 1838 but it looks so futuristic. It was my first video to win an award for Best Video UK Garage Awards 2000. ARRI 35mm
Fishing trawlers, scooterboys, vintage hairdressing salons, Northern Soul dancers, amusement arcades, cobbled streets, vintage delivery vans, actors, extras, 60's clothing stylists, make-up and hair artists. I am very lucky to have such a talented and enthusiastic team behind me. Sony FS7 Digital
Filmed in a real ex-prison in Scarborough, I took on the full responsibility of production design, costume buyer and casting of local non-actors for the prisoners and staff. I love to throw in hidden details for repeat viewers and super fans. We featured the 'Made In Holland' on the bicycle (since Paul writes his songs in Holland), 'Jennifer, Alison, Philippa Sue' in signing-in book is a reference to the Beautiful South's ‘Song For Whoever' and the newspaper headline ‘London 0-Hull 4’ is a Housemartins album title. I'm really proud of the performances everyone gave in this video and it's one of my favourite's for Paul and Jacqui. Sony FS7 Digital
The first video I shot or Paul and Jacqui in Croydon. We utilized some great locations to put across the ‘austerity’ theme, shooting in the Arts & Crafts Quaker Hall and some areas now demolished. This was the first Rough Shots Project shoot where I started to mentor young people suffering issues of homelessness to inspire confidence and new skills. We also donated 30 Ben Sherman shirts and all our unused catering to Night Watch a Croydon homeless charity.
